Wow have I really not blogged since new year!!
Hello lovelies
Its been ages since I lasted blogged and I now how some pretty cool updates to update you with.
Everything is getting pretty busy now as it is getting close to coursework deadlines and revision has started, though I feel like I am getting no where with it.
As some of you may know I currently don't have any transport to take Oscar out to shows so this winter show season has been very quiet. I Haven't been out at all, but this has given me months to really do some solid training with Oscar before all the summer shows kick off.
My first show out is the Blue Chip Championships, I know scary huh? I am just hoping that he behaves and that he isn't too wild. We are there from Tuesday 2nd to Saturday 6th of April so at least we have a bit of a road trip away with friends and the dreaded revision :(
I am doing a lot music wise, nearly 3 weeks ago now I saw an add on a Facebook page looking for people to appear as part of the chorus in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers" with the opera company Opera Della Luna. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to audition as the performances are so close after exams, but I looked at the rehearsal schedule and it was only one night a week, so I decided to give it a go nothing lost and nothing gained. It was my first proper audition for a professional thing, and I was always told at school that I was rubbish at drama and stuff like that, so I was just going for the experience really. When I got there, there were lots of people doing music and dance at uni and they were all very good, so again I didn't really think I would be cast. It was quite a labour intensive audition with dancing and singing having to learn nearly a whole scene in two hours. I tried my best and I think I came out my shell a little.
However the next day I received an email from the director saying that I had gained a place in the chorus! I think I screamed which woke up all my house mates as this was near 11pm at night. I was so happy I couldn't believe that I had been cast in a professional opera at The Lowry Theatre, just one of the most renowned theatres and would be working on the same stage as some of Britain's top actors, as well as working with a professional cast and crew!
So last week was the first night of rehearsals and my god are they intense. Three hours of non stop singing, dancing , acting and putting the scenes together, and I come back so tired after them , but it is such great fun and I have met some great people!
So now onto a completely, my wonderful sponsor GG-Couture is going from strength to strength and is getting more brands in stock every week it seems! Soon GG-Couture are going to be launching their new show jacket in the new popular soft shell material and I cant wait until they are launched. I have also recently purchased one of the Harrys Horse soft shell everyday and jackets and I cant wait to get it and do a review for you guys! GG-Couture will also now be stocking Veredus, Uvex, and Cavallo. Three great and popular brands. I will also be promoting GG-Couture everywhere I go with my branded clothing. I also have vouchers with a code that will get you 10% so its well worth it! I love working with GG-Couture and they support me immensely.
Now onto the final bit of my blog. On the 28th June I will be running the race for life 10km at Tatton Park in Cheshire. I am raising money for Cancer Research UK and running in memory of Jim Capper. I have known the Capper family since starting at Chester Cathedral choir at the age of 7 when Alice started a term after me. We became friends straight away and have never been separated, well until I went to uni. Her family always welcomed me into their home with open arms and well, spending nearly everyday in each others company you do become like a little family. We had so many amazing times together. Jim was always there for me and even treated me like his honorary daughter and he was one of the loveliest people you would ever meet. Sadly Jim passed away last year. I ran race for like 5km last year when Jim was diagnosed and undergoing treatment, and me and the Chester Cathedral girls choir raised a lot of money. After Jim died I decided I definitely wanted to do it again, but I really wanted to push myself so I decided on the 10km, it will be tough and I will probably kill myself, but its nothing compared to what people with cancer and the family who have to support them have to go through.
