Hello everyone!
Well there has been some big developments since my last blog, some good but mostly bad.
I should have been going to scope festival of show jumping this weekend for 6 days, but a two weeks before I went and fell off Oscar cracking my coccyx. Ouch. So I had to cancel all my entries and what not. I am super massively gutted as I was really excited to be going! Oscar had his back checked and then we found out that he was lame behind , the reason for him stopping at fences we thought. So our vet came out today to have a look and he is lame in front and behind, classic diagonal lameness, so we probably wouldn't have been able to go to scope anyway , or we would have gone and had a bad show. So now while I am healing Oscar is going to be blocked and then injected with steroids, and then he will be as good as new.
I am taking Oscar back to jumping some smaller classes for the moment, with him being in pain jumping he has lost a lot of confidence so I am going to build him up to jumping 1.10m again. The BS has also brought in some new heights for amateurs, so that gives us more to do. There will now be 95cm classes and 1.05cm classes, which you can qualify for the amateur champs, which will be good.
So I have now worked out some new goals , which are getting my 4 British Novice and Discovery double clears, and try to qualify next year in the second rounds for scope. Qualify Katherine James 1m and Adventurer 1.05cm for scope next year. Qualify for the Amateur Championships next year. Qualify for the Blue Chip Championships anything up to 1.10cm and lastly qualify for Trailblazer Championships again in anything higher than the 95cm. So we have a lot to be working on over the next year as well as my second year of university, I am going to working very hard I think, but because I have taken him back a step we should be able to achieve these goals :)
So after a crappy week, I received some very good news! I am now being sponsored by Animalife UK! I am so grateful and extremely excited to be working with them. Animalife have some great products for your horses, for performance and general well being. You can read more about them on my new sponsors page :)
Well that's it for now , and like always I will leave you with a picture.
Olivia
